How to Choose the Right Strength:

Reed strength refers to the resistance of the reed when vibrating.

• 1½ – 2
  Very easy response – ideal for beginners, younger players or maximum comfort

• 2½ – 3
  Balanced resistance offering control, flexibility and projection (most common choice)

• 3½ – 4
  Increased resistance for greater stability and projection – suited to advanced players
